ISO within photography is the measurement of sensitivity of the photographic material used to capture an exposure. In the days of film this was the physical film stock, but in today’s digital world the ISO is the sensitivity of the CCD or CMOS image sensor which captures the light.

Photography Basics – Aperture

Aperture in photography is simply the hole in the camera lens which allows light to pass though to reach the camera’s sensor or film stock. This hole can be controlled to vary the amount of light entering the camera, and thus (along with shutter speed) allowing you to control the exposure of an image.
